my kitchen as i love to see it

i love this picture from november: fire in the stove (looks like it needs another log!), lemon balm dried and ready to be put into jars (got a mug right beside me), balloons from ken's birthday, laundry hanging... i love days like this, and many of them are very much like this.

moving to nova scotia has changed so many things in my daily life. more and more i'm becoming aware that the concept of "career" is culture specific and not something that fits with me, even though i am committed to the art i do. i love making things, i love doing art and writing. but i also love just living, and that's as much who i am as anything else. it's easy to use our "work" as an identifier for ourselves, but how can that give a full picture of any of us?

I love your picture Amy and the sentiment of your blog, with which I very much agree.
PS: we visited Ti and Steven and bought wonderful eggs. It was great to meet them, kindred spirits if I'm not mistaken.

Yes it is a Great Picture. Love the Background - where did you get it from?

thanks! we are so lucky to have a haida button blanket that was made for a friend on quadra island by memebers of the first nations community there, then gifted to my husband. they are made from wool and buttons and are worn during feasts and dances.
